**Step 1:**As we know, a whole of something is equal to 100%. In this case, we want to find what 1% of 618 is. We know that 100% of 618 is, well, just 618.**Step 2:**If 100% of 618 is 618, then we can get 1% of 618 by dividing it by 100. Let's do 618 / 100. This is equal to 6.18. Now we know that 1% is 6.18.**Step 3:**Now that we know what 1% of 618 is, we just need to multiply it by 1 to get our solution! 6.18 times 1 = 6.18. That's all there is to it!
